Norbina, was my loving grandmother. She and my grandfather, are both regarded as in my eyes, heroes. They left everything they grew up knowing in Acores, to move to U.S. to provide a better life for thier six young children.
Norbina, and my grandfather, would later also raise a few of thier grandchildren at thier home as well. I consider myself blessed to have had the second set of parents that not many people are lucky enough to have, in them.
I have many found memories with my grandmother, and everyone who knew her would agree that her soul, was one of endless compassion and love. She was an amazing mother and grandmother, and everyone who knew her couldnt help but love her sweet loving personality and endless generousity.
Throughout her life, she had more than enough medical issues, but it wasnt until 2004 when she was diagnosed with cancer of the liver. It soon spread to her lungs, and on May 31st 2005, she left this earth for a place much more beautiful and deserving of her.
Cancer is a disease which plagues many people, and not everyone is aware of how many types are out there. I hope as you read this memorial, you too will be motivated to become more aware about Cancer, in all its types and how important it is for you and your loved ones to be checked regularly.

I miss you Vava. This week we were cleaning your house and I remember how when I was little you asked me if when you got old, if I'd wash the dishes for you. I was only 11 when you died, and you were still young. I never got to really do that for you, but this week while I was washing your pots and pans it felt good, I finally got to do this for you :) I love you,and I miss you. I look forward to when I will see you again
